Principal's Message

Dear Rice School Community,

I am thrilled to be serving as the principal of Rice School.  It is an honor and a privilege to lead this learning community in a time of incredible change and high expectations.  I am fully dedicated to making sure that Rice School will be safe, welcoming, and an exceptional place for success and learning.  Our children deserve no less!

I have been part of the Santa Maria-Bonita School District for the past thirteen years.  I have spent the past three years as an assistant principal at Miller, Alvin, and Tommie Kunst Junior High.  I look forward to this new position and commit myself to giving the very best I have for this phenomenal school community.

I encourage parents and students to come say hello and share their experiences with me about our school, as my door is always open.  I look forward to being a visible figure within this learning community.  I believe teamwork and open communication are important and know that together we will continue to ensure a positive and productive learning environment for our students.

If you have any comments, questions, or concerns throughout the year, please do not hesitate to contact me at (805) 361-7745 or email me at  On behalf of the amazing Rice School Staff, I would like to wish you a wonderful school year.

Together, our children will "SOAR" to great heights.
